Not only do you need a provider that offers competitive rates and flexible terms, but also one that delivers an excellent customer experience. That's why we're excited to announce that Lincoln Automotive Financial Services has been ranked No. 1 in customer satisfaction among premium automotive financing providers in the 2024 U.S. Consumer Financing Satisfaction Study by J.D. Power. A Testament to Exceptional Service According to the study, Lincoln Automotive Financial Services excelled in four key dimensions of customer satisfaction. It wasn't just abor offering digital solutions; it was anchored in trust, tailored support, and personalized service—factors that truly resonate with today’s discerning customers. Participants rated their vehicle financing providers based on their level of trust, ease of doing business, quality of customer service, and digital experience solutions, in addition to how well the loan or lease met their needs. Lincoln's achievement is further spotlighted by the outstanding score of 722 out of 1,000, a rating that positions it above formidable competitors like Mercedes-Benz Financial Services and BMW Financial Services. A Quote from the Leaders Ford Credit CEO Cathy O’Callaghan expressed pride in their customer-centric approach, stating, “Our team is focused on providing our customers with the best financing experience in the business, and we’re thrilled that customers agree. Whether it’s financing a new vehicle or support during tough times such as natural disasters, every day is another opportunity for our team to provide our customers with the ease, clarity, and flexibility that makes financing with Ford Credit or Lincoln AFS the right choice.” Responding to Market Challenges The study didn’t just focus on success stories—it provided insights into the current financial landscape, highlighting the challenges consumers face with high vehicle loan interest rates and prices. J.D. Power noted that only a small percentage of financially vulnerable consumers have the financial buffer required to handle unexpected expenses. Patrick Roosenberg, Senior Director of Automotive Finance Intelligence at J.D. Power, emphasized, “Auto lenders really need to tailor their offerings for the realities of the current market and recognize that a large portion of their customers may face some very real challenges managing their finances. Lenders need to ensure that their digital bill-pay tools encompass a wide range of options, such as extensions, due date changes, personalized financial planning/budgeting tools, and one-on-one advice to help consumers plan for the future.” The Significance for Prospective Buyers For prospective car buyers, this recognition underscores the importance of choosing a financing partner that not only meets financial needs but also adds value through exceptional service. Lincoln Automotive Financial Services leads this charge by placing customer satisfaction at the core of its operations, thus providing you with the peace of mind that your financial experience will be as seamless as possible. Lincoln Automotive Financial Services should be high on your list if you’re considering a new or used vehicle purchase and need reliable financing. The panoramic display and advanced infotainment platform were seen as meaningful advancements within the automotive sector—positioning the Nautilus as a frontrunner in modern vehicle design. A Growing List of Accolades The Best of What’s New Award is far from the only recognition the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus has earned. Exploring Lincoln's Early Years

Five score and two years ago, Lincoln became a member of the Ford family. On February 4, 1922, Henry Ford purchased the Lincoln Motor Company for eight million dollars (or roughly $140 million, when adjusted for inflation). With over a century of history now in its rearview, Lincoln has safely secured its place in automotive lore. Today, Casa Lincoln celebrates 102 years of Lincoln coming under the Ford umbrella by looking back on the luxury manufacturer’s earliest days. The Early Years (1917 – 1922) The Lincoln Motor Company was founded in 1917 by inventor and engineer Henry M. Leland, who named the company after his favorite president, Abraham Lincoln. Leland formed the company with a $10,000 wartime contract to build the V12 Liberty aircraft engine. Following the war, the company would pivot to the manufacturing of luxury automobiles. After selling the company to Ford in 1922, Leland and his son Wilfred continued managing operations, believing they’d retain full control of the company to run it as they pleased. However, it soon became evident that animosity between Leland and Henry Ford wouldn’t allow for a functional working relationship. Due to Leland's role in creating the Cadillac, Ford had already attempted to low-ball Leland when he initially purchased Lincoln. A judge had to intervene and reject Ford’s initial five million dollar offer, as the total value of the company was estimated at more than triple that amount. When Ford finalized the Lincoln deal and assigned several people to work there, it quickly became apparent that these new overseers were there to streamline production – not to take orders from the Leland family. Relations continued to deteriorate over the ensuing months until, on June 10, 1922, Ernest Liebold arrived at Lincoln. Under the direction of Henry Ford, the Ford executive insisted on the resignation of Wilfred Leland. Henry Leland resigned out of solidarity with his son, and both men were escorted out of the factory they had built. The Zephyr and Continental (The 1930’s) Under the guidance of Henry Ford’s son Edsel, the Lincoln factory was redesigned and expanded. By 1923 the company had turned a profit. In 1924, a Lincoln Model L supplied for Calvin Coolidge became the first state limousine used by a sitting United States president in an official capacity. By the time the calendar flipped the decade to 1930, the company was thriving. Much of its early success is attributed to Edsel Ford, who would continue to serve as Lincoln’s president until his death in 1943. In 1936, the Lincoln Zephyr was introduced. It was Lincoln’s first mid-priced vehicle and turned heads with its V12 engine and “alligator” hood design. The Lincoln Continental followed the Zephyr in 1939 and enjoyed even more success. With its unique body design, the Continental helped establish the personal luxury car market in America. Post-Great Depression & World War II (The 1940’s) The Great Depression forced several American luxury car manufacturers to fold, as there was simply no market to operate in. By 1940, Lincoln, Cadillac and Packard were the big three that had survived. To help solidify Lincoln's standing, Ford reorganized Lincoln Motor Company as the Lincoln Division of Ford Motor Company, providing them with a corporate structure similar to what Cadillac enjoyed with General Motors. After the United States joined World War II, Ford halted consumer automobile production to focus on wartime manufacturing. As such, Lincoln once again ceased automobile production. Following the war’s conclusion, Lincoln’s structure within Ford transformed once more, as they paired with Mercury to form the Lincoln-Mercury Division. They would remain grouped together until Mercury’s dissolution many decades later, in 2010. Lincoln returned to production in 1946, using the Zephyr chassis but eschewing the name. The H-series took the Zephyr’s place, and by the end of the decade, the Continental had also ended its run. Version 2.0 of the Lincoln Division was underway. 2024 and Beyond There’s plenty more to Lincoln’s story, and the 75 eventful years between the end of the war and the present are equally worthy of diving into. You can join the Lincoln family today at Casa Lincoln, as they continue their pioneering ways well into the twenty-first century. See how they stack up to competition with exceptional SUVs such as the 2024 Lincoln Navigator. Or get acquainted with the 2024 Lincoln Corsair: intelligently designed for active luxury. Lincoln has been telling their story for over a century now; it's time you start writing yours. Come visit Casa Lincoln today, where we'll work with you on writing your next chapter.

Celebrate the End of National Car Care Month

April is National Car Care Month, and we know what you’re probably thinking: why? It can be easy to forget, but outside of the El Paso area, most of the country has to trudge through long, cumbersome winters. Thus, April has become the designated time to recoup after the winter, handling any maintenance issues that may have gone ignored and making sure your vehicle is set for the rainy season ahead. Although we don’t have to deal with as many elemental nuisances as car owners in the north and northeast, the stormy summer months are still right around the corner. That makes April the ideal month to inspect each component of your car, ensuring it’s in top shape for the year ahead. For your convenience, Casa Lincoln has prepared this handy checklist of maintenance tasks you should take care of as April winds to a close. 1. Check and/or Replace Your Tires Our tires thankfully don’t get affected by winter weather, where each 10-degree drop can cause their air pressure to lose a full PSI. Nevertheless, checking the state of your tires is an appropriate way to kick off National Car Care Month. You should get your tires aligned at least once a year – which the trained technicians at our Service Center can handle for you.  Check your air pressure to make sure your tires are at their optimal PSI, as indicated by the sticker inside your driver’s door. Lastly, check the wear on your treads; if they’re showing significant wear or damage, we’ll help you find a perfect set of new tires for your vehicle. 2. Check Your Brakes You should check your tires so you can get where you want to be. Conversely, inspect your brakes to prevent winding up where you don’t want to be. If you hear any squealing, squeaking, or other irregular, noises emanating from your brakes, it’s time to schedule your service immediately. Squealing brakes are most likely a sign that your brake pads are thinning. Your brakes’ rotors, linings, and drums should all be thoroughly inspected. An ideal time to do this is during every oil change. Speaking of... 3. Get Your Oil Changed It used to be that every 3,000 miles was the standard checkpoint to change your oil. Thanks to modern lubricants, that number has shifted to intervals of 5,000-7,500 miles. (That number can climb significantly higher if your car’s engine requires full-synthetic oil.) Although it’s convenient to have to change our oil less frequently, it also makes us more susceptible to forgetting about it altogether. To ensure it doesn't slip your mind, make April your regular time of year for a standard oil change. 4. Refill All Other Fluids Your car is thirsty by nature, and it takes more than motor oil to quench it. Check your brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and windshield washer fluid, refilling them to their recommended levels. As the heat intensifies this summer and storms develop, these various fluids will be instrumental to both your car's health and your personal safety. 5. Clean Your Car It’s spring-cleaning season – an exercise that shouldn’t be limited to your home. Give your car a thorough wash to relieve it from all this dry air. If you take it to one of our local car washes – such as El Paso’s Splash N’ Dash – be sure to take advantage of any available vacuums, cleaning out all the dirt and debris that might have accumulated over the past few months. Take Care of Your Spring Maintenance at Casa Lincoln If this spring checklist seems daunting, don’t fear; you don’t have to tackle everything yourself. At Casa Lincoln, our trained technicians are on standby to handle all your spring maintenance needs. From tire rotations to parts replacement, we’ll handle every service your vehicle requires in one convenient stop. Celebrate National Car Care Month the right way by taking your vehicle to Casa Lincoln: El Paso’s most-trusted Lincoln dealership.

What To Do When Your Car Overheats

The dog days of summer are nearly upon us, and the El Paso heat is about to unleash its full force. J une is the hottest month of the year for our area with a blistering 96-degree average temperature. As such, it’s time to make the necessary preparations – for both you and your vehicle. The moment your car begins to overheat can be scary, and the aftermath is frightening in its own way. An overheated engine can cause severe damage to your vehicle. It can also suddenly strand you in the middle of nowhere with triple-digit temperatures baring down on you. Today, Casa Lincoln examines signs that signify overheating and the procedures you should follow if your engine does overheat. Watch for the Signs Your engine often communicates with you through unorthodox sounds to let you know that maintenance is needed. Likewise, it will often give you a heads-up before it starts to overheat. Four signs that your engine is about to overheat include: Steam resembling smoke leaking from under the hood. An uncommonly sweet smell emanating from the engine. The engine temperature gauge needle spikes towards the red. The “Check Engine” light or a similar indicator flashes on. Steps to Take When Your Engine Overheats 1. Turn Off the Air Conditioner and Turn Up the Heat We know this seems wildly counterintuitive – but it’s the first thing you should immediately do upon sensing your engine overheating. Turning off the air conditioning helps reduce stress on the engine, while turning up the cabin's heat helps divert heat away from the engine. 2. Keep Calm, Find a Spot to Pull Over, & Shut the Engine Off The most important thing to remember is not to panic. Your brand-new Lincoln Navigator is not about to imminently explode; by panicking, you’re only putting yourself at greater risk of making a mistake and causing irreparable damage. Continue to slowly drive until you find a safe spot to pull over. Once parked, shut off the engine and check the temperature gauge, which should begin shifting back into a normal range as the engine cools down. 3. Determine Your Plan of Action You need to get your vehicle to a nearby garage – ideally our top-of-the-line Service Center, though it will vary on your location. Contact your preferred roadside assistance provider and get your vehicle towed, if necessary. If your engine has cooled and you believe you can get it to the nearest repair shop yourself, carefully restart the engine and resume driving. As you do, continue to monitor the temperature gauge. If it begins rising again, pull over and allow the system to cool once more. Put Your Engine in the Hands of Casa Lincoln You’ve dealt with your overheated engine properly, but there’s still the question of why it overheated in the first place. There are several factors that could have caused your vehicle to overheat; a cooling system leak, faulty water pump, or low engine oil level are all possible culprits. To maximize your engine’s health, schedule your service at Casa Lincoln. Our fully trained team of technicians will diagnose your engine, in addition to providing oil changes, brake inspections, and more. It may be baking outside, but we never let the heat get to us here at Casa Lincoln.

Celebrating National Manufacturing Day: A Spotlight on the American Auto Industry

Every first Friday of October, the United States celebrates National Manufacturing Day (MFG Day). This event, started by the Manufacturing Institute, highlights manufacturing's economic importance and showcases career opportunities. For the auto industry, MFG Day is a chance to recognize its contributions and anticipate future innovations. The Importance of MFG Day MFG Day is not just a one-day event; it kicks off a month-long celebration of Manufacturing Month. Thousands of companies and educational institutions open their doors to students, parents, educators, and community leaders. The aim? To educate the public about the realities of modern manufacturing and inspire the next generation to pursue careers in this vital sector. In the context of the auto industry, MFG Day is particularly significant. American manufacturers have been at the forefront of technical development for over two centuries, and the automotive sector has played a crucial role in this legacy. From the assembly lines of the past to today's cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) production, the auto industry exemplifies American innovation and resilience. Innovation at the Forefront This year's MFG Day comes at a pivotal time for the auto industry, as it embraces significant trends and shifts: 1. Electric Vehicles (EVs) The push towards electric vehicles is one of the most profound changes in the auto industry. By 2030, it's estimated that 26% of net car sales will be electric vehicles, with 58 million new self-driving cars hitting the roads. President Biden's Investing in America agenda underscores this shift, with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announcing $1.7 billion to support the conversion of 11 shuttered or at-risk auto manufacturing and assembly facilities across eight states to manufacture electric vehicles and their supply chain. 2. Workforce Development One of the most exciting aspects of MFG Day is the focus on career opportunities in manufacturing. The auto industry offers a wide range of high-paying jobs, yet there's a significant gender disparity, with only 15% of production workers being women. Efforts are underway to diversify the workforce and promote equal employment opportunities, ensuring that everyone has a chance to contribute to this dynamic industry. 3. Sustainable Manufacturing Sustainability is at the forefront of modern manufacturing. The Domestic Manufacturing Auto Conversion Grants program, funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, aims to expand the production of efficient hybrid, plug-in electric hybrid, plug-in electric drive, and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. This initiative aligns with President Biden's Justice40 Initiative, which seeks to ensure that 40% of the benefits of federal investments flow to disadvantaged communities. 4. Community and Economic Revitalization The conversion of auto manufacturing facilities supports American workers and revitalizes communities that have long been the backbone of the U.S. economy. These investments not only create thousands of new jobs but also help retain highly skilled union workers, supporting the great comeback story of American manufacturing. Looking to the Future As we celebrate National Manufacturing Day, it’s important to look ahead. The challenges facing the American auto industry—supply chain disruptions, the shift toward sustainability, and global competition—are significant, but the opportunities are equally compelling. The transition to electric vehicles offers a chance for the industry to reinvent itself. With the federal government’s commitment to promoting clean energy and sustainability, the auto sector is uniquely positioned to lead this charge. Investments in charging infrastructure, battery technology, and green manufacturing practices pave the way for a robust and resilient industry. Celebrate American Manufacturing If you're passionate about the auto industry and want to see firsthand how modern manufacturing is shaping the future, we encourage you to participate in MFG Day events. Whether you're a student exploring career options, a parent supporting your child's interests, or an educator looking to inspire your students, there's something for everyone. Join the celebration and learn all about the American manufacturing industry. Together, we can drive the auto industry's future in the United States and ensure its continued success for generations to come. Take advantage of the best to come out of the American auto industry at Casa Lincoln by test-driving our many Lincoln vehicles like the brand new 2024 Lincoln Aviator. We look forward to seeing you at our dealership!

When you think of Lincoln and their relation to media culture, one famous face probably leaps to mind: Matthew McConaughey. Since the actor’s pre- McConaissance role in the 2011 film The Lincoln Lawyer, the Oscar winner and his distinct drawl have become entwined with the Lincoln brand. In the series of commercials McConaughey filmed since, he’s presented Lincoln ownership as a confidently cool experience. And yet Lincoln’s cinematic history extends well beyond the True Detective star’s endearing endorsements. Here are five times when Lincoln and the world of movies have memorably collided. The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) The Lincoln Lawyer and its aforementioned star may not be the end-all-be-all when it comes to Lincoln in modern cinema... but it's certainly the place you’ve got to start. McConaughey stars as Mickey Haller, a lawyer who operates, aptly enough, from the back seat of his 1986 Lincoln Town Car. That means we get plenty of shots of the Lincoln’s luxurious interior, as Haller begins to suspect his client is more guilty than he’s letting on. The film was a key part of McConaughey’s career revitalization and unofficially launched his ambassadorship with Lincoln. Today, Mickey Haller’s adventures continue in Netflix’s Lincoln Lawyer television adaptation, which is currently prepping its third season. The Hangover Part III (2013) A 2003 Lincoln Town Car stretched limousine made a cameo appearance in the first installment of this Vegas-set comedy trilogy. But it’s the third movie where Lincoln’s luxury limo moves into the spotlight, highlighted by madcap chase scenes through the neon-drenched Vegas streets. Considering Lincoln retired the Town Car in 2011, this may be the final time (period pieces aside) where we get to see the Town Car stretched limo in action... or at least until The Hangover Part 4 inevitably arrives way too late. The Car (1977) Reaching back a bit further into the archives, the titular Car in 1977’s The Car is a demonically possessed 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III. Four separate Continentals were built for the supernatural horror film, which involves the unmanned Lincoln going on a murderous rampage in a small town. Influenced by road movies of that era, including Spielberg’s Duel and Roger Corman’s Death Race 2000, the James Brolin-led film was panned by critics at the time, but has amassed somewhat of a cult following. More importantly, its villainous vehicle helped bring Lincoln into the mainstream. The Long Goodbye (1973) Robert Altman's satirical neo-noir The Long Goodbye is based on Raymond Chandler’s 1953 novel of the same name. Iconic private investigator Philip Marlowe – portrayed here by Elliot Gould – is investigating his wife’s murder, as neo-noir private investigators are wont to do. To crack the case, Marlowe makes several trips to and from Mexico in a 1948 Lincoln Continental Convertible Cabriolet. Interestingly, Altman moved his adaptation from the book’s 1940’s Hollywood setting to the 1970’s, but kept the 1948 Continental – perhaps as an homage to the classic noir aesthetic. The Matrix (1999) After would-be chosen one Neo opts for the red pill in 1999’s groundbreaking sci-fi hit The Matrix, things get pretty dark pretty fast. What better vehicle to convey Neo’s troubled mental state (and future wardrobe) than an imposingly black 1965 Lincoln Continental? The fourth-generation Continental features prominently as Neo’s pre-flight mode of transport, using it throughout the second half of the film to evade Agent Smith and his viral cohorts. It's also where he and Trinity make their proper introductions. Earlier this year, The Matrix celebrated its 25th anniversary, giving you the perfect excuse to watch a movie you should be rewatching every year anyway. (Whether or not you need to give the sequels another shot is more debatable.) Write Your Own Script at Casa Lincoln Though we’ve given you a broad range of films, we’ve barely touched upon the Lincoln’s full filmography. Lincolns play main or supporting roles in the Sean Connery-starring 1964 Bond flick Goldfinger, 1978 cult classic National Lampoon’s Animal House, and 2012 Dax Shepard comedy Hit and Run. Lincoln's ubiquity has also carried into the world of television, where Lincoln has turned up in everything from the 1960’s Batman series to more modern fare like HBO’s Entourage. At Casa Lincoln, we’ll pair you with the perfect scene partner with our award-winning collection of new and pre-owned vehicles. Received a Recall Notice? Here's Your Next Step

Your safety behind the wheel is a top priority – but what actions should you take if your vehicle is recalled? It's crucial to address every recall promptly! Stay ahead of the game with our simple, step-by-step guide to ensure you're not caught off guard. What Is a Recall? When there’s a recall, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) determines if a vehicle does not meet motor vehicle safety standards. Manufacturers are then required to file a report including details of the vehicle, the number of vehicles affected, equipment affected, a description of the defect, what led up to the decision to recall, an explanation, and a recall schedule. Registered owners must receive a recall notification from manufacturers by first-class mail within 60 days of the recall instructing owners on how to get the issue fixed, the time frame of the fix, and how long the repair should take. Checking for Recalls Made Easy One of the most efficient ways to check for recalls is by using your vehicle’s license plate on the NHTSA website. Though manufacturers are required to notify owners within 60 days, physical mail isn’t always reliable. If you’ve heard about a potential recall or have concerns regarding your car's make and model, searching with your car’s license plate or VIN on the NHTSA site is the simplest way to get accurate and timely information. What To Do When Your Car Is Recalled? Once you find out if the recall applies to your vehicle or parts, there are three options: repair, replace, or refund. By law, the manufacturer must choose one of the three options to correct the issue. If the manufacturer has chosen repair, your vehicle or part must be repaired by the manufacturer at no cost to the vehicle owner. Replacement means that if the problem can’t be fixed, the manufacturer must provide you with another similar or identical model. A refund option involves the manufacturer refunding the purchase price of your vehicle, minus depreciation. These options also apply to accessories such as car seats. Your recall letter or warning should notify you if your car is too dangerous to drive. Regardless, the recall issue should be resolved immediately by taking your vehicle to a local authorized dealership matching the make of your car. Remember, the bigger the recall, the longer the waitlist for an appointment. Scheduling a Recall Repair at Casa Lincoln Recall repairs need to be handled at authorized dealerships to ensure proper documentation, quality checks, and allow manufacturers to inspect recalled parts. Although the NHTSA grants manufacturers some time to make repair services available post-recall, it’s wise to reach out to your nearest dealership as soon as possible to avoid delays. Building a strong relationship with your local authorized dealer can be a real asset during high-demand recall periods! Has your vehicle been recalled? Call Casa Lincoln immediately to book your recall repair appointment and ensure your vehicle functions to its intended safety guidelines and performs its best. Our team is happy to help, from minor service to full recall assistance!

The Lincoln MKZ Sedan: A Tribute to Lincoln’s Surprise Performance Icon

For most of its history, Lincoln wasn’t known for thrilling performance. It was a brand synonymous with sophistication, smooth rides, and old-school luxury, rather than track-worthy performance or engineering feats. But for a short period, Lincoln delivered something unexpected— a car that surprised enthusiasts by challenging the status quo. That car was the Lincoln MKZ sedan. While often overlooked in conversations about powerful vehicles, the Lincoln MKZ’s final iteration achieved something remarkable. It became one of the most powerful front-wheel-drive sedans in modern history, boasting a sophisticated design and a powerful heart under its hood. What Made the MKZ Special? The 2017–2020 Lincoln MKZ blended luxury, performance, and sophistication, earning its place in the competitive luxury sedan market. Initially introduced in 2006 as a larger Ford Fusion focused on comfort, the MKZ lacked the excitement of its German rivals. However, the second generation launched in 2013 brought a bold redesign and upgraded features. The 2017 refresh was a game-changer, introducing a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine with up to 400 horsepower in AWD models, making it one of Lincoln’s most powerful sedans with surprising agility and sleeper-car performance. While competitors opted for bold, flashy styling, the MKZ embraced reserved elegance. The 2017 update added a stately grille, crystal-inspired headlights, and refined details that elevated its luxury appeal. Inside, the MKZ offered premium materials, heated and cooled seats, ambient lighting, and an optional 20-speaker Revel Ultima sound system. Balancing strong performance with refined luxury, the 2017–2020 MKZ left a lasting impression in the luxury sedan segment. The Engine That Changed Everything The 2017–2020 MKZ featured a 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, derived from the smaller 2.7-liter EcoBoost in the Ford F-150. Ford engineers increased the bore and stroke to create a high-powered, larger engine that balanced performance and refinement. This engine produced 350 horsepower in FWD models and 400 horsepower with AWD, making the MKZ Lincoln’s most powerful sedan at the time and one of the most powerful FWD cars in recent memory. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, it delivered smooth, impressive acceleration for a luxury sedan. With AWD, the MKZ effectively reduced torque steer seen in FWD models, putting its 400 horsepower to the ground with improved handling and control. Key Features of the Lincoln MKZ The 2017–2020 Lincoln MKZ blended performance and luxury in a way that stood out. Engine options ranged from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a hybrid model to the powerful 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6. Multi-mode drive settings let drivers switch between comfort and sport, offering a dynamic driving experience, while its AWD configuration delivered solid fuel economy with up to 26 mpg on the highway. Inside, the MKZ offered a refined cabin with leather upholstery, wood trim, ambient lighting, and premium features like optional multi-contour front seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions. The 8.0-inch Sync 3 touchscreen supported Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and optional upgrades such as navigation and a 20-speaker Revel Ultima sound system. Safety was another highlight, with advanced features like forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring. Though it shared its platform with the Ford Fusion, the MKZ elevated itself with thoughtful design, premium materials, and a well-rounded mix of performance, comfort, and technology, making it a compelling choice in the luxury sedan market. A Quiet Goodbye Despite its tremendous potential, Lincoln never promoted the MKZ as a performance sedan, and its accomplishments remain largely unsung. The MKZ and the Lincoln Continental left production in 2020 as part of Lincoln’s broader transition to an SUV-focused lineup. While vehicles like the Navigator and Aviator cater to today’s market demands, the MKZ occupies a special place in Lincoln's history—a bold statement of possibility from a brand content with understated luxury. The Lincoln MKZ reminds us of what happens when an automaker dares to challenge its reputation. Without fanfare, it bridged the gap between classic refinement and cutting-edge performance, showing that even a brand steeped in tradition can surprise us all. Marking National Seat Belt Day on November 14th

Every year on November 14th, we take the time to recognize National Seat Belt Day, highlighting the life-saving potential of that simple buckle. This day not only allows us to reflect on the historical importance of seat belts but also helps to raise awareness about their ongoing role in promoting road safety. The Importance of National Seat Belt Day Established in 2019 by the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), along with Uber and Volvo, National Seat Belt Day serves as a crucial reminder that the three-point seat belt, designed by Nils Bohlin in 1959, is one of the most impactful safety advancements in automotive history. Despite its simplicity, this invention has saved countless lives and continues to be a critical component in vehicle safety. Often overlooked, the seat belt is a humble hero of road safety. Consider these compelling statistics: seat belts reduce fatalities by 45% among front-seat passengers and drivers, prevent serious injuries by 50%, and are an essential complement to airbags, which can be dangerous if passengers aren’t restrained by seat belts. How to Observe National Seat Belt Day Buckling up every time you get into a vehicle is a simple yet crucial action for your safety. By wearing your seat belt consistently, you can significantly reduce the risk of injury. Be a role model and encourage those around you to do the same, ensuring all passengers are properly buckled up, whether it's a short drive or a long journey. Spread awareness about the importance of seat belts through conversations and social media. Share stories, statistics, and experiences to emphasize why buckling up is vital. Educating children on this habit can lead to lifelong safety practices. Engage them with activities like the Buckle Up Buddy Heart craft and Ride Safe activity sheet to teach road safety effectively. The History of Seat Belts Use The history of seat belts is a testament to progress in automotive safety. From the first patent by Edward J. Claghorn in 1889 to the mandatory inclusion of seat belts in all U.S.-manufactured vehicles by 1968, the evolution of seat belt usage reflects a growing commitment to protecting lives on the road. Despite initial resistance, where critics argued that seat belts might trap passengers during accidents, the evidence soon proved otherwise. By 1968, seat belts were a federal requirement, and their use has been steadily increasing, with the national usage rate rising from 58% in 1994 to nearly 92% in 2023. Fast Facts About Seat Belts Influence on Youth: Children whose parents use seat belts are more likely to buckle up themselves. Rural vs. Urban: Despite assumptions of safety, rural areas often see higher rates of unrestrained fatalities. Back Seat Safety: Rear-seat passengers must also buckle up to ensure maximum safety during a crash. Buckle Up, Every Time, Everywhere! National Seat Belt Day is more than just a date on the calendar; it's a call to action. It’s a reminder that we hold the power to protect ourselves and our loved ones with the simple act of buckling up. This November 14th, Visit Casa Lincoln near Fort Bliss to celebrate the innovation of the seat belt with Lincoln’s commitment to safety and make every ride a safe one.
